Me wearing my Good Luck Ribbon Choker |
Hello. My name is Kahrheena Merriweather. I am founder and artisan of Things Knot Broken. This project started after I recognized my desire to start crafting for the first time since grade school and found myself in a situation prime for a fresh start! Early on my attention was caught by the art of knotting, Micro-macrame and Chinese knotting to be specific. The idea of jewelry based in fabric instead of simply wire and beads intrigued me and influences me to keep majority of my jewelry about the intricate knot work and incorporation of fabric textures. I like to breathe new life into the vintage art of knotting by utilizing bold pattern fabrics and bright colored mediums for the knot work. While I do still love using beads in my work, I allow them to be the focal point while the knotting serves as a strong frame. So if you have an interest in things handmade and unique, this is my online boutique. Enjoy!
